Officer Trey Nodine of Cornelius Animal Shelter accepted $225 of donations from sales of Harley, The Throwaway Puppy.

All of the proceeds from my books and commissioned portraits are donated to animal rescue charities.

Thousands of animal charities around the country need donations to support their work. We have chosen three worthy charities to help support. When you order your Harley book, you will be asked to choose an animal rescue organization from the following list. Please click on the links to find out more about each one.

Cornelius Animal Shelter of Cornelius, North Carolina

Started by an animal control officer who could not longer face delivering strays to the pound, this small shelter works to place dogs and cats locally. A new building has improved the temporary living quarters for these soon-to-be pets looking for their families.

Harvest Hills Animal Shelter of Fryeburg, Maine

This shelter serves nineteen small towns in western Maine. They work tirelessly to place animals in loving homes, and their work has paid off: 17,000 pets adopted since 1992.

Tierra Madre Horse Sanctuary of Cave Creek, Arizona

Run by Jim and his small staff, Tierra Madre is home to 34 formerly neglected, abused, or injured horses of all breeds. Many are permanent residents due to health issues or age. This is one of my favorite rescues because of the devotion shown to each individual. Where else do horses get a 3:30 a.m. treat-a-thon?
