Elisabeth Davis, author/illustrator

Elisabeth Davis, M.A.,  of Cornelius, NC, is the author and illustrator of six children’s picture books, published in both the U.S. and the United Kingdom.  Davis taught college level English composition and literature for many years, and she is also a watercolorist, specializing in commissioned portraits of children and animals, especially dogs and horses. Davis was the official Event Artist for Bark in the Park Festival 2015, 2016, and 2017, in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC.   Davis donates all proceeds from her books and artwork to animal rescues.

Elisabeth Davis is affectionately called “Grizzlie” by her grandchildren, hence her website’s name:  http://www.grizzliebooks.com

Davis’ children’s books began as Christmas gifts for her young grandchildren, but quickly grew in popularity, and are now sold worldwide.  Her works have been featured in the Charlotte (NC) Observer, the AKC Canine Friends newsletters, and others, and she has given talks and book readings to school children around the country.  Her first book, Harley, The Throwaway Puppy, tells the true story of her son and daughter-in-law’s mixed breed rescue dog, who overcame adversity to achieve two ultimate AKC agility championship titles.  Mo, the sequel, follows a tiny puppy from a forest to the AKC Master Agility Champion title and a forever family.
